Mission: To be the easiest, cheapest and fastest place to buy team soccer uniforms on the planet
An adidas guy?
I’ll be honest with you. Growing up, I was always an “adidas guy.” Don’t believe me? My best friend and I even shaved an adidas trefoil into our heads for our high school season. Thankfully, we had an excellent team or else we probably would have gotten beaten up.
As I progressed into the soccer business (before Nike was a part of the landscape and only black and white shoes existed), I loved to sell the Copa Mundial soccer cleat. Incidentally, despite all the technological advances in the world, I still think it is one of the best made shoes in the world.
Unlike retail product like balls, cleats or shin guards, selecting a vendor for your soccer uniform package is a different ball of wax. Teams need the confidence to know that the uniforms will arrive by kickoff – this season, the next and the next after that one. It has to be the same color with the same customization as before…close isn’t nearly close or good enough when it comes to soccer uniforms.
For so many teams, player tryouts and allocations come far later than companies like adidas and Nike require to outfit you by kickoff. Nonetheless, teams run the slippery slope – buy anyway – and are disappointed come opening day. Oh, and what happens down the road? It’s a nightmare when you add a player or a player leaves a jersey behind at the field.
Here are the problems buyers face:
- Late Tryouts or Sign-ups means late ordering
- Out of Stock means no uniforms by kickoff
- Discontinued Product signals the end of wearing that uniform
- Difficult Customization
- Minimums – what if you really only do need just one more?
- Delivery time by kickoff again and again
How Could we Fix these Problems?
No matter how much of an “adidas guy” I am, I realized that getting onto the fields by kickoff – at a reasonable cost – is at the heart of the game and makes the most sense. This is why we created SoccerUniformPackage.com. We don’t manufacture our uniforms in China – but rather under our expert guidance in our own factory here in North America. This ensures a quality uniform at a competitive price delivered to the marketplace faster than anyone else. By controlling the manufacturing and production of the uniforms in-house, we completely eliminate the hurdles that cause other companies to fail you.
At heart, I’m still am an adidas guy, so I can empathize with customers who have brand affinity. I still wear adidas cleats when I take the field. And, we’re soccer people first. I’d much rather build a model that contributes to the game in a cost-effective manner and allow resources that truly impact the game to go to those areas. Doesn’t it make more sense to protect your uniform investment and spend money on balls, training, tournaments and fields? We think so.
